How to Make Nutella® Strawberry and Banana Crepes

Is there anything more classic and delicious than Nutella® Crepes? In our opinion, you really can’t call yourself a Crepe Pro until you have at least tried these crepes!

The words Nutella® and crepes have practically become synonymous, you can hardly think of crepes and not have chocolately visions of Nutella® and strawberries dancing through your thoughts!

When I was growing up, Nutella® Strawberry and Banana Crepes were a staple! We had them almost every Sunday for breakfast and those were some of the best memories I had with my family!

We would all take turns cooking the crepes and we loved decorating them and expressing our individuality with our crepes!

And there is a reason why these crepes are not only a fan favorite for me but also so popular around the world!

In addition to being the perfect combination of French chocolate and fresh fruit but they are also very simple and easy to make! And we are going to show you how!

CrepePro style!

Recipe

You'll need to start by making some Crepes.

Ingredients:

- 3 Eggs

- 4 Tablespoons Melted Butter

- 1 1/3 C Milk

- 1 1/4 C Flour

- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla

- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt

Directions

1) Blend together all ingredients on high for 45 seconds to one minute until you get a creamy well blended batter with little no clumps.

*CrepePro Tip* - The order that you add the ingredients into the blender can have a big impact on the crepe batter consistency after blending. Here’s how we do it:

- Milk

-Eggs

-Vanilla

-Salt

At this point, we will start to blend it together before adding the melted butter and flour.

If your blender will allow it, (we don’t wanany additional messes in your kitchen!) then you can put the blender at a low speed, slowly pull off the lid, and start to add in the flour, while the blender is running.

This can help avoid the deadly flour clumps as the flour is being immediately blended in instead of sitting and combining!

You can then add in the melted butter. It is better to let it cool slightly as adding the freshly melted butter right out of the microwave or stove top can potentially cook your eggs and give you an unwanted texture!

2) Once blended, check for excess flour on sides of blender, scrape down and blend once more until all ingredients seem incorporated.

3) Store batter in fridge and let cool for at least 20 minutes before cooking. *when in a pinch, this step can be skipped, but is recommended to give a desired batter consistency!

4) Heat up the CrepePro to medium/low heat and let it heat up for 3-5 minutes before cooking. This ensures evenly cooked crepes.

5) Have your T-handle and spatula (included in CrepePro kit) ready, as well as a wet paper towel to wipe off excess batter from batter spreader after each crepe.

6) Now using your favorite nonstick, grease the CrepePro lightly and cover the pan completely.

We have found that the Kirkland® Canola Oil spray that you can get at Costco® works great but we have tried many different types of nonstick and have found that nearly all work wonderfully!

You typically only need to spray once at the start but if you find that the crepes are sticking to the pan, you can increase the stove temperature or feel free to add a little more nonstick to the crepe pan.

Next, pour about 1/3 – 1/2 c of batter into the middle of the crepe pan and spin crepe with T-handle/batter spreader.

Let crepes cook for 30 seconds-1 minute, or until bubbles can be seen all around edges of crepe and some in middle. Use spatula to flip crepe, cook for about 30 seconds more on other side.

How to Spin Crepes Like a Pro

Once you've made your crepes, the fun can begin!

Be sure to have lots of Nutella®, whipped cream, fresh fruit (we love strawberries and bananas), and powdered sugar to add a little something to the finished product.

Choose your crepe and top it with as much Nutella®, berries, and any other toppings you like. Get creative with this part! The folding of a crepe can be an art form, as well as the decorating.

What we typically like to do is fold the crepe in half to form half circle. Then imagine the half circle crepe as 3 triangles composing of the left section, middle section, and right section.

You can first start by putting down a layer of Nutella® on the crepe covering all 3 sections. You can add as much or as little here as you want, and trust us, we aren't judging!

On top of the middle section of the crepe will then you would add your cut up strawberries and bananas!

Following that, you will close the crepe! Start by grabbing the 2 outer sections of the folded crepe and fold them on top of the fruit to create the beautiful triangle like you see in the picture.

Feel free to top the crepe with more Nutella®, powdered sugar, whip cream, extra fruit, or anything else that you would like to add to make the perfect, delicious crepe guaranteed to satisfy!

We hope you'll love it and enjoy yourself the way we do!

The last and most important step: eat and enjoy this delicious crepes with those you love! Bon Appetit!
